Abstract
Since watching Food Inc., we have developed many questions relating to the issue of where our food comes from. These numerous food industry issues prompted us to research based on the question: Is it possible for Rowan University students to have an all organic diet? After doing research, we discovered that it is almost impossible for a Rowan resident to solely eat organic foods. Particularly based on availability on campus and nearby, along with tight college student budgets, we discovered that adopting an all organic diet at this university would be a heavy burden.
Introduction
Because we are all Rowan University students, we made the assumption that there is either little or no access to organic food on campus. We are all commuters and feel that it gives us an advantage of having more access to organic food. Our group is more concerned with students who live on campus and wish to eat organically. Furthermore, what about students who strive to only eat organic food?
Some more questions to guide our research include:
Is it possible for a resident of Rowan University to only eat organic foods?
Where does the food at Rowan come from?
Where are the nearest places to Rowan who produce/ sell organic food products?
Can Rowan students financially afford organic products?
Is there anything that the university does to provide access or awareness to Rowan students?
Are college students aware of what they are eating?

Conclusion
Based on our findings through various types of research, we concluded that although Rowan University may wish to make organic food easily accessible, it’s not as easy as it may seem. The demand for the variety of conventional foods and the very restricted Sodexo budget offers little room to purchase more expensive, organic products. We also discovered that student accessibility off-campus is also extremely limited, with the closest organic stores being several to dozens of miles away. Fortunately, we found some potential solutions for students who want an all organic diet. The most impressive ideas were online organic delivery services and different ways to locate and buy organically on a budget. One possible question we would like to research in the future is: Are many Rowan University concerned with switching to organic foods?
